There’s something really special about being invited into a family’s home to document the early days with their new baby—but this session was extra meaningful to me. I’ve known Danielle’s mom since we were kids, so getting to photograph her with her own daughter now was a full-circle moment I won’t forget.

We did the session in Danielle’s nursery, which was full of thoughtful little touches—soft colors, cozy textures, and one of my favorite details: a sweet painting of her ultrasound and heartbeat. It was the kind of space that just feels loved and ready for all the moments to come.

This session had more of a lifestyle feel, which I love for newborns. Instead of the highly posed and wrapped-up shots, we focused on real-life moments—snuggling, rocking, quiet cuddles in the nursery chair. It was all about capturing that new-parent rhythm and the way they’re already settling into their roles with so much love and care.

Danielle was calm and curious, wide-eyed for a good part of the session and completely content in her parents’ arms. The photos feel natural and connected, and I think they’ll mean even more as the years go by.

Getting to document this season for a lifelong friend was such a gift. Welcome to the world, sweet Danielle—you are so loved already.
