Wedding at The Grand Hotel | The Schcolniks
The day started with Elise and Nick sharing a first look on the beautiful grounds of The Grand Hotel. Elise was absolutely giddy as she walked toward Nick. The second he turned around, her face lit up with the biggest smile. It was such a sweet, joy-filled moment, and you could just feel how ready they were to spend the day together.
After their first look, we went straight into formal portraits, which turned out to be a perfect decision. Their ceremony was held on the Grand Lawn, and just as they began to exchange vows, the rain started—light at first, then a steady downpour. Guests stayed in their seats, opened up umbrellas, and a few family members even stepped forward to hold umbrellas over Elise and Nick while they stood together, fully present in the moment. It was beautiful, heartfelt, and totally unforgettable.
Later in the evening, the skies finally cleared, so we made a quick run to the beach for sunset portraits. The light was soft and golden, and those few quiet minutes felt like a perfect little pause before jumping back into the celebration.
And what a celebration it was. The live band kept the dance floor packed all night long. Everyone—from the wedding party to the grandparents—was out there dancing and having the best time. To top it all off, Elise and Nick had a beignet food truck waiting for guests at the end of the night. Warm beignets and a full dance floor! Hard to beat.
Even with the rain, this day felt incredibly full of love, laughter, and the kind of joy that makes a wedding day unforgettable.
