Shannon spent her morning getting ready with all her sisters (there are a lot of them) at a beautiful historic home in midtown Mobile. It was the perfect space to get ready for a beautiful wedding!

Shannon and Jake’s catholic mass wedding ceremony was so beautiful to be a part of. Their priest did a major portion of the ceremony in Latin which is a sacred language saved for occasions just like this! St. Mary’s Catholic Church is breath taking! The architecture is so stunning and I did my best to photograph the beauty of the venue.

After the ceremony ended, the bridal party headed over to the Avenue of the Oaks so the beautiful oak trees would be the setting for the wedding party portraits. Shannon and Jake have so many friends and family, making their wedding party rather large. All of Shannon’s ladies were incredibly supportive and helpful making sure her wedding dress and veil were perfectly placed in every photo! Their help honestly made my job so much easier!! Also, a HUGE shout out to Shannon’s sister Marian for desiging the wedding florals! The girls bouquets were absolutely gorgeous!!

Shannon and Jake’s wedding reception took place at Byrne Hall on Spring Hill’s college campus. The super fun Emma Pitts was second shooting for me at this wedding and captured the reception venue details. I think she did an amazing job, so I had to share some with you all!

During the reception, Jake used his Marine Corps sword to cut the wedding cake! This was a first for me to photograph and I loved it!! Everyone really liked Shannon and Jake including that special moment to their day. They also did the shoe game which has become a really popular fun game for wedding couples to play at a bridal shower or their wedding. The live band kept the dance floor full the entire night! Everyone had a blast singing and dancing to the very talented Top Tier Band.
