It all started when…
I became a photographer around four years ago. It started with me just taking pictures of friends and family. I never really thought my passion would become anything more than a hobby. I didn’t think I had what it takes to be a professional photographer.
Well…it turns out I do have what it takes! My passion was enough for me to strive to learn to be the best photographer I can possibly be. I’m still growing with every photoshoot which I love! I have a background in teaching, which means I obviously have a love for learning!
My background has helped to inspire me to learn everything I can about photography and how to be the best at what I do! I’m not the best yet…but I have faith that one day I will be!
“Faith. It doesn’t make things easy. It makes them possible.” Luke 1:37
As well as having a background in education, I was also raised in a church. I love everything about the church community and learning about the love Jesus has for us all. I know that I would not be who I am if it were not for God!
Trusting in the Lord to help me fulfill my dreams is one of the best things I have ever done! I took a leap of faith this year and have been trusting the Lord in my journey. As I have told you already, I come from an education background. Well, I took a leap of faith and did not pursue a teach position once I graduated from college.
Instead, I decided to dive head first into my photography career to see how the Lord will help me succeed. If you’re reading this, that means I have at least succeeded a little bit and that is all that I can ask for! Small success leads to big success.
My Love Story
I love love!! I love to hear a bride gush about how she met her husband to be, their engagement story, and their wedding plans! Since I love love SO much I could not help but share my love story with you all!! Here is a very condensed version of my love story. If you want to know more message me!
Every photographer is different. We all have our own niches and our own purposes for being a photographer.
Memories. Who else loves to sit on the couch with their family and look at old memories? I know I do!! I really enjoy seeing how my family looked in the past, what they wore, who their friends were, where they liked to go, and much much more. It sounds cheesy and pretty much every photographer says this…but I LOVE capturing others memories. Memories are so important and many of us do not stop enough to relax and enjoy the details around us. I enjoy photography because even if the client is not slowing down to remember their surroundings, I will be there to capture them!
Flexibility. Being a photographer gives me the freedom to create my own schedule. I love to start off the day snuggled up on the couch, hot chocolate in my hand, and a good devotional book. I get to enjoy this all because I am a photographer! Other professions require that you wake up early to get ready for your work day. That life was not for me and I really enjoy my freedom!
Creativity. I really enjoy being creative! The ability to capture God’s beautiful creation is something that I will never take for-granted! I notice things I may have not noticed before (i.e., the beauty of a sidewalk or the sunset). I love that I get to use my creativity for my job and I pray that you all love my work!
