Popular Locations For Photoshoots

Mobile, AL edition

The location of your portrait session is totally up to you! Like you will see throughout this post, most of my clients choose to showcase the natural beauty of Mobile. For most of my sessions, outdoor, open-air environments are always the first choice! I love shooting in wide-open natural spaces because the light is divine, especially during golden hour. There are great options all around Mobile, so if the location you’re considering is not on my list below don’t hesitate to ask me about it! I’m always up for exploring new locations!!

This list is made up of the locations that I am most frequently asked to shoot at and that I love!

01. Spring Hill College

Spring Hill is by far one of my most requested locations to shoot at! There’s obviously a reason for that…it’s gorgeous!! There are tons of beautiful spots on campus that work well with any lighting situation. This location features oak trees, azalea bushes, wide-open spaces, white buildings, beautiful archways, and an insanely gorgeous golf course! I enjoy shooting here, but the only downside (sometimes) can be how busy the campus is.

02. Downtown Mobile

I love shooting in Downtown Mobile! It has an abundant amount of beautiful spots to shoot. You can opt for city vibes with the beautiful murals, tons of buildings, water fountains, and some of my favorite colorful walls that make a great background so you are the focal point.

If city vibes aren’t what you’re looking for, you can also capture the nature of downtown by going over near Fort Conde Inn, the History Museum of Mobile, or any of the beautiful parks in downtown!

Side note: I got married at Fort Conde Inn, so it’s obviously one of my favorite spots to shoot!

03. Washington Square

This is a park located in the middle of a neighborhood in midtown. It’s amazing!! It can sometimes be hard to find, so I’ll send you tons of directions to make sure you don’t get lost. It has beautiful trees that I love to shoot in, plus it has a great amount of shade for those days that the sun is just a little too harsh. It features a beautiful water fountain that if we’re lucky the gate may be unlocked to!

Some other beautiful spots:

  1. Bellingrath Gardens (they charge a fee to shoot on their property)

  2. University of South Alabama

  3. Bragg Mitchel Mansion

  4. Mobile Botanical Gardens

  5. Mobile Federal Courthouse (BEAUTIFUL white stairs)

A little bit further

Fairhope Pier / Downtown Fairhope

This one is a little bit of a drive, but totally worth it! I don’t shoot mini sessions here, so keep that in mind when deciding. Fairhope is such a cute little town that has beautiful spots to shoot in at every turn. This option features beautiful greenery, walkways, beach access, a pond with a gorgeous bridge, and unique buildings.

Also further down….

Blakely State Park

The nature at this park is stunning! There are beautiful trees everywhere you turn with so many options for a forest vibe. It costs $8 to get in I believe, but is well worth the small fee!
