The location of your portrait session is totally up to you. Like you will see throughout this post, most of my clients choose to showcase the natural beauty of Mobile. For most of my sessions, outdoor, open-air environments are always the first choice. I love shooting in wide-open natural spaces because the light is divine, especially during golden hour. There are great options all around Mobile, so if the location you’re considering is not on my list below don’t hesitate to ask me about it. I’m always up for exploring new locations

01. Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park offers a charming and romantic setting right in the heart of downtown. Its mature oak trees and lush greenery provides plenty of variety for photos without needing to travel to multiple locations. It’s perfect for engagement sessions, couples, families, and portraits looking for a timeless, classic Mobile feel.

02. Mobile Federal Courthouse Building

The Mobile Federal Courthouse is a beautiful choice for photos if you love pretty architecture and a downtown feel. Its stunning white columns, grand staircase, and clean architectural lines create an elegant and classic backdrop that adds variety and sophistication to your photos. The neutral tones also pair beautifully with almost any outfit, making this location perfect for couples looking for a mix of romantic, elevated, and urban vibes.

03.History Museum of Mobile

The History Museum of Mobile provides unique architecture and textured backdrops that add character and variety. It has grand marble staircases, beautiful archways, and fun details that are perfect for couples who want a timeless and sophisticated downtown Mobile vibe. The museum does require us to get permission in advance and they charge a small fee to shoot inside (around $30).

04.Bellingrath Gardens

Bellingrath Gardens is a beautiful location for nature lovers. With winding garden paths, vibrant seasonal blooms, peaceful water features, and lush greenery around every corner, it's the perfect setting for couples who want a romantic and elegant engagement gallery. This location does require permission in advance and they charge a photoshoot fee (around $150).

05.Spring Hill College

Spring Hill College is a beautiful location for a photoshoot because it offers so much variety in one place. The iconic Avenue of Oaks provides a romantic, natural backdrop with its beautiful tree-lined path, while the white chapel and surrounding buildings add timeless architecture and elegant details.

06.St Paul’s Episcopal Church

The little garden beside St. Paul’s Episcopal Chapel is beautiful for photoshoots. This location features a white chapel, brick fountain, and beautiful landscaping all really close together. It’s best for smaller groups like an engagement session or a small family session.

There are plenty of other options for photoshoot locations in Mobile besides these spots, like Bienville Square, Mardi Gras Park, and the Bragg Mitchel Mansion.
